As a royal, his preparation and childhood leadership training has enriched and impacted on his understanding of God's kingdom and leadership principles.

Bishop Hawkson was one of the pioneer students of the Kumasi High School. He attended Bethany Bible school and served in the Bethany Fellowship for 16 years. He proceeded to the United Kingdom for further education, obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Divinity from the Ministerial Training College in Sheffield. He also holds two Honorary Doctorate Degrees in Philosophy in Theology and Divinity from North West London University.

God called Bishop Hawkson at a very young age in his teenage years and has used him to pioneer and oversee several churches.

From a humble beginning, God has raised him to affect his generation with an Apostolic and Prophetic calling. He was ordained a Bishop in 1977 by the Mt. Sinai Holiness Church of America and served as their Foreign Missions Director for that year. He returned to Ghana in 1978 to establish the then Peoples Church of Ghana which was later changed to Jubilee Christian Centre currently registered and known as Jubilee International Churches and Ministries.

He is Married to Shirley Hawkson and has four children. He has authored several Books including "Daring to Succeed" "Breaking the Chains of Failure" , "Principles of the Kingdom of God", "Church Planting techniques".
